all activities presented here teach concepts that build on
this theme. These activities are intended for sixth, seventh,
and eighth grade teachers. All activities are based upon South
Carolina State Science Standards, and each activity contains
procedures, materials lists, standards addressed, assessments,

Activities: Each of these activities covers a different
concept related to watersheds. Together they form a comprehensive
unit that will prepare students for their visit to the Aquarium.
the Aquarium: An overview of the activities sixth
-eighth grade students will be participating in at the Aquarium
who are visiting as part of the Structured School Program.
Activity: An activity that synthesizes the students
learning by involving them in conserving local watersheds.
