Adopt a Wild Dolphin is the Aquarium's newest adoption program partnering wth National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - National Ocean Service (NOS) and National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). It will offer an opportunity for local communities, visitors, and classrooms to connect with South Carolina's state marine mammal, the bottlenose dolphin. Local researchers have been studying dolphins in the Charleston area for years and have chosen known resident dolphins from their catalogue to be adopted. Adopt a wild dolphin and help support the development of marine mammal education and protection programs of the South Carolina Aquarium. To learn more or request adoption, email Membership@scaquarium.org.
