green  (Chelonia mydas)

Stranding Location: South Core Banks, NC
Arrival Date: 12/13/2010
Age: Juvenile
Weight: 3.42 kg (7.5 lb)

Case History
In an effort to help North Carolina facilities overwhelmed by a large number of cold-stunned sea turtles that stranded in early December, nine sea turtles were transferred to the SCA's Sea Turtle Hospital on 13 December 2010. Fisher, a juvenile weighing 2.54 kg, is one of seven greens received from NC.

Treatment
Little Fisher arrived in decent condition for a cold-stunned turtle. Our veterinarian, Dr. Boylan, started him on antibiotics, fluids, calcium gluconate, and vitamin B complex. In addition, Fisher received blood work and radiographs. Fisher eagerly ate the food we offered on 15 December and is doing well.
