On Tuesday, April 9th the South Carolina Aquarium will be closed to the public starting at 12:30 pm for the remainder of the day as we host the Mid-Year Meeting of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). The last ticket will be sold at 11:30 am. We will return to our regular 9:00 am to 5:00 pm hours the following day, Wednesday, April 10th.

We apologize for this inconvenience but are excited to welcome more than 500 aquarium and zoo colleagues from around the country to Charleston and the South Carolina Aquarium. During this meeting we will exchange ideas and best practices about conservation, animal care, marketing, safety, distance learning – literally every aspect of our trade. It is through our membership in AZA that we improve, and commit to maintaining the highest professional standards.
