“The Aquarium’s education program inspires my students to protect endangered species. They’re exposed to animals they wouldn’t see otherwise. Coming from a low-income community, a trip to the Aquarium is a cultural experience like no other.”
–Anonymous High School Teacher
From touching an alligator to feeding a stingray or watching a lemur frolic, students leave the South Carolina Aquarium with a newfound respect for wildlife and wild places. Research suggests that students who connect with animals will forever have an appreciation for their place in our world. We believe the first step in creating future leaders in science and technology is by capturing imaginations. By engaging each student, we can set them on a course to become the researchers of the future and stewards of our natural world.
