South Carolina Aquarium’s Shark Week 2014

CHARLESTON, S.C.— July 17, 2014— Splash into the South Carolina Aquarium August 1-10, 2014 and become immersed in all things shark during the Aquarium’s Shark Week celebration. From shark themed dive shows, to shark touch experiences, there’s fun for all ages all week long.

Dark Blue kick-off party:

Sink your teeth into the official Shark Week kick-off party, Dark Blue, taking place July 31, 2014 at the South Carolina Aquarium. Eat, drink, and dance in honor of everything shark, after-hours at the Aquarium. Make a splash on the dance floor while listening to local bands Brave Baby, Moxie, and Jordan Igoe, enjoy snacks from the Charleston Harbor Fish House, High Cotton, and Victor Social Club and sip libations from Palmetto Brewing and Icebox at a cash bar with drink specials throughout the night. Tickets are $35 each or $30 for Aquarium members, Dark Blue is ages 21 and up, tickets may be purchased at scaquarium.org/sharkweek or by calling (843) 577-FISH (3474).

Shark Week activities:

Reel in the Shark Week experience with tons of toothy fun! From shark themed dive shows, interactive shark carts, and our popular Shark on the Shelf, there’s excitement for all ages all week long:

  • Bruce, the Aquarium’s giant inflatable shark, will welcome guests
  • Bamboo shark touch experience (limited times only)
  • Shark-themed dive shows
  • “Shark on the Shelf” making a special summer appearance
  • Shark-themed interactive education stations such as Sharkeology where you can dig for shark artifacts, and our Shark Cart with fossils, teeth, and more!
  • Photos in a giant Megalodon jaw
  • Shark dress-up area
  • Marvel at 13 sharks which call the Great Ocean Tank home, including sand tiger sharks!
