St. Simon stranded with severe anemia, emaciation, dehydration and was loaded with internal and external parasites. Although the turtle has recovered from those ailments, it cannot see out of its left eye. Ultrasound shows a possible tumor that could be causing the problem. A follow-up ultrasound is scheduled for the end of May.
St. Simon was treated with fluid therapy, chloramphenicol antibiotic, iron injections, panacur and praziquantal for internal parsites, metoclopramide and the sucralfate for internal bleeding.
