One80 Place Veterans visit the Aquarium

Last Monday, veterans and their families from One80 Place took an adventure down to the harbor for some Aquarium fun and learning. Adult education is just one of the many supportive services that One80 Place provides to homeless veterans and individuals to help them turn their lives around.

Every night, 180 men, women and children call One80 Place home, including 50 veterans, making it the largest provider of services to homeless people in South Carolina. Last year alone, One80 Place provided shelter and supportive services to more than 1,600 people and served more than 170,000 meals to people facing hunger.

In addition to providing food and shelter, One80 Place provides primary and mental healthcare, counseling and case management, basic adult education, employment training, civil legal programs and more to help end homelessness. One80 Place also partners with the Ralph H. Johnson VAMC and Department of Veterans Affairs to provide shelter and supportive programs to homeless veterans.

The staff and volunteers of the Aquarium were grateful for the opportunity to share a day of fun and learning with such an inspiring group of people!
