We are thrilled to announce that the Aquarium is now open to the public. In order to ensure the health of all guests and staff, we are limiting the number of guests allowed in the building at one time and using advanced reduced-contact online ticketing. To keep a limited capacity throughout the day, all guests, including members, will need an advanced ticket with a confirmed date and time slot. You can reserve your date and time at scaquarium.org/tickets. If you are having technical difficulties purchasing a dated and timed ticket, please call our Customer Service Center at (843) 577-FISH (3474). 

HEALTH AND SAFETY

The health and safety of our guests, staff and animals remains our top priority. We are following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines for reopening. Please visit our Frequently Asked Questions page for all the details on new Aquarium procedures that have been implemented for both staff and guests.

Beginning Monday, June 8, cloth masks or face coverings are required for all Aquarium guests (ages three and up). As a scientific organization, it is our duty to keep the health and safety of our guests and staff top priority. By requiring masks or face coverings, we reduce the potential spread of COVID-19 from pre-symptomatic and asymptomatic carriers.

  • Guests under the age of three and guests who cannot wear a mask or face covering without assistance should not wear one. If you are unable to wear a mask or face covering due to a medical condition or disability, please see a member of our Guest Services team to receive a wristband upon entry.
  • Cloth masks or face coverings can be homemade or store-bought. Please be sure your mask or face covering covers both your nose and mouth, fits snuggly on the sides of your face and allows you to breathe easily.
  • Current Aquarium policy requires all staff to wear cloth masks or face coverings.
VIRTUAL VISITS

In keeping with our mission to connect people with water, wildlife and wild places, we’re excited to announce that we will be providing online programming including live streams of fun and educational programming from our talented team at the Aquarium.

Join us for a virtual visit each Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m. EST on Facebook. Head to our Virtual Visits page on our website for how to access the live-stream or see archived programs.

CRITTER CALLS

Book an Aquarium animal for your next virtual work meeting! All critter calls are $100 for 15 minutes and special requests can be taken to customize the call. Zoom platform is preferred but any conferencing platform can be used. Critter Calls are also great for birthday parties, family Zoom get-togethers, happy hours and summer camps! EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND

Taking care of our animals and staff has always been and will continue to be our top priority. Rest assured our animals will continue to be well-provided for by our expert Animal Care Team during our closure. If you would like to contribute to our Emergency Relief Fund to ensure our ongoing demands for food, medicine and other supplies are met, please visit scaquarium.org/relief. This fund will support our staff and ensure that we can stay connected and bring you high quality, fun and educational programming during this time when you are unable to visit.

GROUPS

RESCHEDULE
If your group is scheduled to arrive before June 1st you may reach out via email or phone to reschedule or hold a credit on your account. The admission cost for your group visit will be grandfathered in at the current group rate (a price increase is scheduled for June 1st).  Please contact information@scaquarium.org.

REFUND REQUEST
Should local or state government make a recommendation that aligns with a decision to cancel a planned event and you require a full refund, please send a written request to information@scaquarium.org with the following details:

  • Reservation Number
  • Group/School Name
  • Scheduled Arrival Date
  • Detailed written request with reason for requiring a refund vs. rescheduling or holding credit
  • Supporting documentation for your request such as a link to the government or school district policy or formal letter from the government or school district stating that a cancellation is mandatory

Our committee will review your request and respond with an update within 10 business days of your request (as long as our offices are able to remain open).

MEMBERSHIPS

ACTIVE MEMBERS
All regular annual memberships* with an expiration date of March 16, 2020 or later will be extended by the amount of time that we were closed. Members may choose to opt-out of the extension as a way to support the Aquarium during this difficult time. Please direct any membership questions or requests to opt-out to membership@scaquarium.org. *This does not apply to Conservation Stewards or Watershed Society members.

RENEWALS/UPGRADES
Now, more than ever, renewing your membership is one of the best ways to support the Aquarium’s talented staff, the care for our animals, and the fun and educational programming that will continue to serve you, your family and the community. VIRTUAL PROGRAMS AND EVENTS
Staying connected with our members is a top priority for us, and in these ever-changing times, we are excited to continue our member programming virtually!
