Case History
Admitted to New England Aquarium on 11/13/2016, this juvenile came in at 55° F and was triaged with fluid therapy, vitamins and antibiotics before making the journey to South Carolina Aquarium.
Treatment
Here at the Sea Turtle Care Center, we are providing the cold stuns with support care in the form of warm, well-filtered saltwater, and a nice nutritious diet.
Updates:
December 12, 2016: R2-D2 is doing great, and is eating like a champ! H/she is still receiving antibiotics every three days.
January 6, 2017: This turtle sure does love food! C-3PO will regularly eat the entire diet of fish before the pieces even make it to the bottom of the tank!
February 7, 2017: R2-D2 is doing very well. He/she goes crazy over the food at feeding time!
March 1, 2017: R2-D2 is very active and is looking great overall! R2-D2 was also pulled for tagging and bloodwork this week! We are excited to potentially get this little one back out into the ocean in the near future!
