Embark on an adventure with a mermaid in this small-group experience for children ages 3–12 years old! Young ocean explorers will craft their own mermaid crowns and necklaces, transform into a FINtastic creature with face painting, enjoy a unique photo moment with a mermaid and more. Each day has members-only sessions as well as public sessions; registration is $65 per member child or $80 per non-member child. Each encounter is limited to 15 children (limit of two adults per child) to make this a magical and immersive experience for all. Come make waves, create treasures and leave with a sparkle of your own!

Please note: Magical Mermaid Encounters will take place at the Boeing Learning Lab at the Charleston Maritime Center, and this registration for Shimmer and Sparkle: Magical Mermaid Encounter does not include general admission to the Aquarium.

It started with a shimmer… then the flick of a tail! Mermaids are making a splash at the South Carolina Aquarium each weekend in February and are filling the waters with waves of fun for all ages. Taking place in front of the Great Ocean Tank, this calming and meditative journey through sound provides the perfect opportunity to unwind and recenter yourself.
