Through dynamic 360-degree live-action films synced with motion-platform seating, this immersive expedition will have you swimming the depths with spectacular sharks or riding the waves with wondrous whales!

Now that you’ve had a chance to see wildlife up close through North America’s deepest tank — our Great Ocean Tank — it’s your turn to dive in! Take a seat on Undersea Explorer and experience the ocean in amazing virtual reality!

A general admission ticket or member entry reservation to the Aquarium is required to ride. Undersea Explorer tickets are $8 per rider and $7 per Aquarium member. Tickets can be purchased at the VR experience location on the second floor of the Aquarium.

Journey to find Tiger Beach, an underwater strip in the Bahamas where some of the world’s largest sharks, including apex predator tiger sharks, are said to gather. Follow Matthew Smukall, a marine biologist studying tiger sharks at Bimini Shark Lab and Mike Dornellas, a “shark whisperer” and free-diver, in hopes of solving the mysteries of these incredible animals at Tiger Beach!

Important Information

Undersea Explorer is a 360-degree multi-directional, motion-enabled virtual reality experience. The immersive nature of this experience, including the potential of loud noises, visual effects or flashing lights, is not recommended for guests who are pregnant, those with neck, back or bone conditions or those with a history of epilepsy.

Guests must be at least 36 inches tall to ride Undersea Explorer. Riders must be able to sit, unassisted, with the headset securely fit on their head. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Full information on the Undersea Explorer virtual reality experience is available at the ride’s location on the second floor of the Aquarium.
