Curious Minds Welcome

Are you a teen or do you know a teen who loves science? The South Carolina Aquarium Teen Science Café out-of-school programs are a free, fun way for teens to engage in lively, educational conversations with STEM experts. Teen Science Cafés for the 2020 year are all virtual in partnership with the Museum of York County and are hosted on Thursdays, September through December,from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For teens ages 13-17.

September Teen Science Café

Learn all about future space travel and experiences as an astronaut in training with commercial scientist, astronaut and author, Brien M. Posey.

October Teen Science Café

Explore the deep ocean and learn more about how much of this vast, mysterious realm remains undiscovered with Elizabeth Vernon (E.V.) Bell, marine education specialist for the South Carolina Sea Grant Consortium.

November Teen Science Café

Discover current methods for identifying, studying and treating human genetic disorders with Dr. Kathryn Kohl, associate professor of biology at Winthrop University Topic.

Thursday, November 19, 6 – 7:30 p.m.

December Teen Science Café

Find out how sea level rise affects us all and what you can do about it with the South Carolina Aquarium’s conservation manager, Kelly Thorvalson.
