Spring Break fun is at the South Carolina Aquarium! Make your Charleston day feel like a true vacay with dive shows, up-close animal encounters, multiple touch tank experiences, virtual reality, breathtaking waterfront views and more.

Dive Shows and Programs
Whether you’re an aquatic aficionado, a budding biologist or a conservation connoisseur, your day at the Aquarium is filled with special programming all about the amazing animals of South Carolina! Join an interactive dive show, learn more about your favorite species in our care and listen to stories of rescue, rehabilitation and release straight from a sea turtle biologist!

Animal Encounters
What better way to make memories with loved ones than to meet a wild new friend together? A visit to the Aquarium isn’t complete without an animal encounter! Throughout the day, Aquarium staff can guide you to gently touch some of the creatures in our care, like snakes, turtles, stingrays and even sharks! See the Info Desk for more information during your visit.

Feed the Rays
Come fingers to fins with cownose rays in The Shallows by hand-feeding them some fishy treats! All guests may gently touch the rays in this exhibit, but if you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, feeding vouchers can be purchased at Admissions or the Info Desk for $5.
Feed the Rays vouchers available 10:15 a.m.–4 p.m. daily, while supplies last.

Virtual Reality Experience
Once you’ve had the chance to explore our diverse habitats on solid ground, take a seat on Undersea Explorer — our virtual reality experience — to enjoy views under the water! Guests can enjoy a virtual dive with ocean giants like sharks or whales on this immersive, motion-enabled ride.
A general admission ticket or member entry is required to ride. Undersea Explorer tickets are $8 per rider; $7 per Aquarium member. Tickets can be purchased at our VR location on the second floor of the Aquarium.

Downtown Charleston
We often refer to our waterfront as our “bonus exhibit”! Take some time to enjoy views of famous Charleston sites like the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge and USS Yorktown at Patriots Point Maritime and Naval Museum, all while keeping an eye out for wildlife like bottlenose dolphins, brown pelicans and more. If you’re looking for more amazing Lowcountry experiences after your Aquarium visit, you can walk or drive just minutes to the International African American Museum, Marion Square in the heart of downtown and more!
